The PROTECT Norge study builds on PROTECT UK (http://www.protectstudy.org.uk/), which is an innovative fully digitalized cohort and infrastructure, that is tailor-made to enable large-scale longitudinal data collection on ageing, deliver affordable clinical trials and to address the current barriers to prevention research. It is the only remote, purely online ageing large cohort in existence.
PROTECT participants complete in-depth annual validated cognitive and mental health assessments in addition to providing rich data on lifestyle, medical and demographic factors. The cognitive assessment batteries are unique, providing an unprecedented depth of insight into cognitive function through a fully remote and automated testing system. The PROTECT online format enables large-scale data collection and analysis at a fraction of the cost of traditional in-person cohort follow-up.
This is a longitudinal cohort study in Norway, in collaboration with, and using the unique technology of, the PROTECT UK study (http://www.protectstudy.org.uk/).
