“Sammen redder vi liv” is a national effort initiated by the Ministry of Health and Care Services which is coordinated by Helsedirektoratet. The purpose of the national effort is to increase the survival rate and reduce lasting effects after cardiac arrest and other time critical emergency medicine conditions outside of the hospital (such as stroke, heart attack and serious injuries). To achieve this, the health authorities have invited everybody to join a national volunteer effort, where public, private and volunteer organizations can participate. Many small projects have been started or been planned, such as first aid education at schools, to the elderly, to minorities, the implementation of technical tools like apps, improvements in the 113-centres, and follow up on first aiders etc.

There is a desire to conduct research into the effects of “Sammen redder vi liv”.
The areas of interest are the effect of education of first aid on different communities,
how it effects patient treatment and outcome etc.

RAKOS have hired Hege Kristin Kjærvoll for a Ph.D.-fellow within “Sammen redder vi liv”. This position will be connected to a doctorate program at a Norwegian university and supervisors within recognized research groups in Norway will also be involved.
